Show Notes for Mad Men Podcast Season 4 Episode 1 “Public Relations”

TV Ratings:
Season 4 of Mad Men premiered to 2.9 million, a new high, eclipsing the 2.8 million for season 3.  This is an increase of about 5% from last seasons opening. Of course it is only a tiny increase compared to the 34% jump from season 2 to 3, but still new high for the show and for an AMC original series.  I haven’t yet seen viewer info out to at least 10,000s, or the 18-49 data but hope to later today. The big question is, has this show found its plato?

Rumors:
MAD MEN (AMC)- The cable channel and producer Lionsgate Television are reportedly close to a long-term renewal of their Emmy-winning drama. Currently under contract through its fifth season, said pickup would take the series through at least season six – due in 2012. It’s understood Lionsgate wants to lock up the series as soon as possible in order to begin negotiations with creator Matthew Weiner, whose deal with the studio is up after the upcoming season.
